World Comes to Palm Beaches 2021 Results

5th Annual WORLD COMES to the Palm Beaches (WCPB) hits a Home Run in many ways.
The WCPB International Baseball tournament produced by the Caribbean Baseball Organization (CBO) features 1 team, per country, per age group competing at the planet’s finest Baseball facility the Ballpark of the Palm Beaches. “our tagline is the United Nations of Baseball” and that could not of been evident than our staff (R-L Martin Burrows(Bahamas), Andrew Dixon(Jamaica), Gift Ngoepe(South Africa), Karel Williams(Aruba), Mario Signorello(USA), Cuban brothers Orlando & Rolando Rodriguez)
-On the field Venezuela with 3 MLB Alumni won the Open Division, Bahamas playing in front of numerous MLB scouts each game pulled off a groundball triple play enroute to winning the 18U division.
-The Marlins #24 prospect Ian Lewis came by to support the team, at 18 Lewis could of played on the team.
-Team USA needed extra innings to defeat Venezuela in the “game of the tournament-A”, and Venezuela with several MLB scouts in attendance won the 12U.Game of the tournament B, had to be Jamaica defeating USA in 18U.
-The storyline is as good as the win, Hozanna Johnstone born in Jamaica now living in Toronto saw on social media the Jamaican team was looking for pitchers. The  family flew down to watch their son Elliott(pic w Gift Ngoepe & me) pick up the win on the mound.
-Special Thank you to Charles Johnson who walked with Team USA in the Opening Parade of Nations Ceremony, & Hall of Famer Andre Dawson for throwing out the 1st Pitch for the Open Division game.Perhaps nobody sums up the spirit of the event than Genaro Ramirez a dad who flew in from the DR to support his son playing in the WCPB. Mr. Ramirez overheard me having staffing issues Saturday due to Covid protocols and volunteered to work Saturday gratis, unless you count the t-shirt, we gave him.
